Latest urban legend potentially linked to recent deaths?
It's been hard to miss reports of the recent deaths of teenagers in our local area. Medical practitioners have been able to rule out disease and there is no evidence of murder or suicide. Police, doctors and civilians alike are baffled and worried by what may possibly be the cause. With no answer forthcoming and too many incidences to write it off as a passing occurrence, would it be foolish to look to less conventional reasons?
Children at a [REDACTED] have been swapping rumours about the existence of a cursed tape. Like Hanako-san and the creature called the Teke-Teke, this seems simply to be the heightened wildfire rumour that spreads through excitable schoolchildren on a yearly basis. However, the hushed excitable tones and the delighted dread that usually accompanies such tales are missing from the story of the video tape. Few seem willing to try it, and several claim that the one person who described the contents to them died not long after.
"You'll get a phone call," says one Tomoko Asakawa (15), "on your cell phone. It'll ring and you'll then hear a little girl telling you that you have seven days left to live."
