[ at dusk nearby the apartments tonight, there is a small stall, lit up by lanterns outside an in behind the curtains covering the inside. a delicious smell comes off of it, and the coast seems to be clear around the stall. as the sun sets further, the light inside illuminates the shape of a small person... or creature, judging by the tall ears on top of its head.

[Shinies, though? Mika pats herself down, sticking her hands in her pockets to see what she might have in them before rummaging in her bag. A rather shiny nut she'd found outside the hardware store, buttons off her bag might be too scuffed but they had nostalgia, a woven bracelet she'd made from twine she'd picked up here and there? Gently unfastening two of the plain silver hoops from her ears, she rubs them on a corner of her shirt to buff the metal before laying them on the counter. She huffs a little, feeling a bit naked before pushing them towards the kitsune.]

Hey, I did try to pay, you know.
[She turned back to the kitsune, slowly lowering herself on to the seats.]
Thank you for having us, auntie.

[Mika closes her eyes, her body visibly relaxing more than she's allowed herself to in a long time.]
Auntie, can we ask you about the town?
