[There is a muffled sound of someone awkwardly trying to work a phone, before a loud voice finally speaks up. Eddie proving to have some colorful language when he speaks.]

Dunno who I'm talkin' to- but, hey. If you could like direct me to the asshole who shoved a cinnamon candy in my mouth, it'd be appreciated, I'd like to have a few words with that shit.

Cause, hey- mother fucker. Shovin' cinnamon candy in someone's mouth when their asleep is fuckin' terrible. Besides you know, the chokin' hazard, do you know how fuckin' nasty cinnamon is? Seriously. Who the fuck even does that?

That in itself is the shittiest fuckin' thing. C'mon, man, at least give us somethin' like mint. Mint is perfectly acceptable if not less fuckin' nauseatin'. If I'm gonna die from candy, let it be mint, or- [There is a brief pause as he deliberates over his choices] chocolate mints. Yeah, chocolate mints.

Thanks for listenin' I guess? Hell if I know how these shitty blackberries work. This is why I use a flip phone, shit is simpler.

[The voice on the other end of the phone sounds confused, and Mika eyes her phone like it might grow teeth. Why the hell would the apartments bring Jack Black here?]

The cinnamon isn't that bad...it does get pretty old after a while though.

You know, I think I'm going to avoid asking because that sounds all kinds of awkward.

The candy certainly is curious, isn't it? I don't know why they even do it to begin with, especially since they do it to everyone who arrives here regardless of the person's tastes. [ Guess who dislikes candy. Yeah. ]

Far as I can guess it might be some dumb attempt at bein'- 'nice', 'fore you know things probably turn to shit.

But why would they pretend to be nice? Even if they would try to fool us into a sense of contentedness, they aren't exactly trying hard for it. The spirits and creatures in this place were hostile from the very moment we arrived first here.

I'd say it's more like a preemptive 'hey here have this cause we're gonna kill you now' before they, you know, drop things on us.

.. That still makes little sense, but I suppose not much in this place does to begin with. [ She sighs very slightly. ]

Did you experience strange things back home as well? If you haven't, then you should make sure to prepare yourself to see very strange things in this place. And they are strong as well.

[This voice has an echoing quality to it, like the person who is speaking is sitting in an empty room.]

Unfortunately, there's yet to be a surefire way to speak to the ghosts who dragged us all here. For a time there was a kitsune out in the streets who would converse with us while we ate the bowls of soup she prepared, but she wasn't responsible for our capture.
